Yes...Winter is almost over...but since coats can be very expensive and are all on end-of-season clearance, the time to buy your perfect coat is NOW. You will have a little more time to enjoy it this season...and you'll be ready for next year!! Here is my carefully thought out and researched guide to the perfect coat for you.
If you are PEAR SHAPED...carry a little more weight on your bottom half
You want to look for a coat that is either cinched with a matching belt or very fitted in the middle. A fit and flare shape is right for you. Another tip is to look for either an all-over print such as plaid, which creates allover symmetry, or find a coat with details that draw the eye up, such as eye-catching buttons on the bust of the coat. On the other spectrum...many of you are ample where I myself am lacking...in the bust area!! If you have a busty figure, you want to steer away from the double-breasted peacoats and opt for a single-breasted option. You also want a slim fit (just make sure the buttons aren't too snug across your breast-TRY ON !) to show off your waist and avoid looking heavier than you are. You also want to look for a coat that is hip-length or longer to balance you out. Check this one out: Taharia "Lola"
If you are petite (5'3 or shorter) You want to look for above-the-knee coats that are tailored, especially at the waist. Since coats can be bulky, make sure your coat does not overpower you, and is nipped at the waist so your shape is not lost in it. Shorter peacoats are great for you! For plus-sizes, you want to to stick to clean lines and minimal details. A-lines will skim your curves and look great on you. Try to stay away from bulky fabrics, and try to find a coat with a matching belt if you can. Check this one out: Victoria's secret wool trenchcoat

I found this great coat on sale at Target the other day for $14.98. They also had it in camel and a flocked gray in addition to the bright red. End of winter sales are the best
