Pictures of the Day: Day Lake Trip

Our two weeks in the mountains has started, and my husband starts his job tomorrow. Yesterday, my dad took us, along with my sister and her husband, and my little bro, on a day trip to Lake Chatuge. It was about an hour and a half drive, but it was worth it! There was a little beach area, and Gabriel had a blast playing in the water and fishing for the first time. Here's some pics from our day!!

Squirt bottle=favorite toy. Spiderman Life Jacket=Life Saver (Literally. He leaned over too far and fell in. It was only four or five feet but still...I jumped in and saved him. Much less scary grabbing your baby by the life jacket as he floats on top of the water, than grabbing for him under the water. He was pretty scared but totally ok.)
With his Aunt Meg, his bff.

Uncle Ben bought squirt guns. He's like the nineteen-year-old older brother Gabriel never had. They drive me up the wall pestering each other.
Riding in Grandpa's canoe and pretending to be a pirate.

 Getting in by himself

Gabriel and I were the only ones to catch a fish. He helped me reel it in, and thought it was the coolest thing ever.

 There's our little brim!!!
I had to remove it from the hook myself...I guess now that I have a child of my own, I have to step up and start doing the nasty fishy things myself, instead of screaming for my dad to help. My sister was very impressed, because she knows I have a fish phobia.
Gabriel gave the fish a little kiss before I released it back into the water. It happened before I could stop it...
Loving on my poor husband. He hurt his back that morning and was pretty out of commission. He's still feeling pretty bad today :(
Passed out in the car within five minutes on the way home. Death grip on the new t-rex pillow his Aunt Megan bought him. And when I say bought I mean when Gabriel saw it at the gas station we stopped at, she picked it up for him like she was going to buy it and then got my dad to pay for it, lol! Some things never change!!
