DIY: Braided Chain Necklace (REALLY AWESOME)

I bought a huge pack of embroidery thread in the brightest and most amazing color palette in Wal-mart a few weeks ago. I've been making mad jewelry with it for my Etsy store, but have also been searching the web for some more great ideas. I made the following necklace using a tutorial that I found at Studs and Pearls! I changed it up a bit, but I will explain how below.

To get the step by step directions click here . The tutorial at Studs and Pearls is for a bracelet, but I just used a longer chain to make it a necklace. I also used WAY more thread to make my braid thicker. You can use as much as you want, just remember that you need to separate them into two sections and the two sections need to be pretty even in thickness. After I followed Studs and Pearls' tutorial, I added gold chain to make it long enough (my white chain was not quite long enough on it's own to fit around my neck) and a clasp. Then I added the beads using jump rings. So easy!! I am hoping to make more of these!

XOXO,

L
